has passed away

It is with great sadness we report that, on Tuesday, March 7 2006, Howard Jackson passed away. He was a true friend and role model to all that knew him.  He died at the City of Hope hospital in Duarte, CA.

He was cremated on the 14th of March and a memorial service took place on Saturday March 25, 2006 at 11:00AM

Sharon and the family would like to sincerely thank each of you for your flowers, cards and gifts honoring Howard and expressing your love and great respect for him.

Sharon, will be returning to Texas to be with her 85 year old father. That address will be:

Sharon Welker
821 Downing Drive
Richardson, TX  75080

She can still be contacted through this site as well. Also, if you want to send flowers to the church for the services, they will need to arrive early on the day of the service.

Sharon is compiling a collection of photos of Howard to add to the book they were writing on his life story. If you have any photos that you feel would be of interest, please send them to Sharon at the Texas address.

Note from Sharon:   I will be back later to post my thoughts on Howard's last days.  Thank you all for your encouragement, love and support for myself and Howard throughout this entire journey.  I would not have missed a minute of time with this wonderful man. He was a blessing to me and all who knew him.

Note from Webmaster:   I will miss Howard greatly as a friend and teacher. I will never forget the old karate school days, it was a honor to work for him.  He was an inspiration to all that knew him. He always gave 110%  - WORLD CHAMPION HOWARD JACKSON KARATE STUDIO was the best school ever !!! -  My soul rests in the fact that Howard came to know Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior and one day I will see him again.  I would like to thank a wonderful Christian woman...Sharon, Howard's fiancé, for staying by Howard's side throughout his entire battle with cancer, and being a powerful witness to him.

Love,

Kevin Burton and family
